SIPSim, a Voice over IP (VoIP) Performer component, is an advanced hardware and software solution that generates high volume SIP-based (session initiation protocol) services, such as video, voice, presence and instant messaging, as well as all relevant RTP streams. Capable of simulating 500,000 simultaneous SIP calls and 50,000 media streams, the SIPSim Service Simulator has the ability to fully stress carrier grade network elements such as registration servers, sip proxy's and video servers.

Tests Performed
By emulating a virtually unlimited number of SIP terminals, that can initiate one or more SIP sessions, receive network SIP responses and terminate existing calls, the SIPSim is capable of stressing different network elements such as SIP Entities (Proxy, registration, IMS), Access Entities (Media Gateways, Trunking Gateways and IP PBX's/Phones), Service Entities (Presence and Instant Messaging, PoC, Video Servers) and Security/Broadband entities (Firewall's, NAT, WiMax).

Summary
A component of the RADCOM VoIP performer, the SIPSim's powerful capabilities enable users to benchmark, load test and verify proper protocol implementation, in MMoIP equipment, as well as ascertain standard compliance, signalling integrity and grade of service (voice, video, presence, PoC..) under traffic levels that would be typical in live a SIP network. |
