Parascope ADSL2+ez - ADSL1/2/2+ Handheld tester

FE offers a choice of handheld ADSL testers all providing a quick and simple acceptance test that is the perfect tool for engineers involved in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ lines. 

The ADSL2+ez, at a cost of under £700 is an easy-to-use handheld ADSL tester offering ADSL and line testing capabilities, whilst the ADSL2+DMM handheld tester provides the same functionality together with a high resolution backlit LCD.

ParaScope ADSL2+ez Overview

Some of the features of the ADSL2+ez include:

•One-button test with pass/fail results.

•Highly water resistant and durable to withstand foul weather conditions.

•ADSL1/2/2+ Physical Parameters test.

•DMM (ACV, DCV, Loop and Insulation Resistance, Capacitance, Line length) needed to determine if the copper circuits can support the demands of high performance ADSL2+ and IPTV service.

•MODEM emulation for verifying ADSL1/2/2+ service.

•IP Ping over ADSLx and LAN for ensuring a reliable TCP/IP connection.

•Complies with all multi-standards.

•Supports all multi-protocols.

•Bits/Tone graph that is needed for determining if there is a T1/E1 or ISDN BRI in the ADSLx bind.

•Connects to Telco via alligator clips or RJ-11.

•Field replaceable, rechargeable lithium battery module.

•Beep and LEDs alarm indications (Low power, ADSL, and Ethernet).

•Large storage capacity—can store up to 60 groups of test results.

Tests Performed

The ParaScope ADSL family of testers Auto-synchronise with the DSLAM ATU-C and provide details regarding the service rates achieved and the noise margins on the line under test.  Once synchronised the testers can be used to perform a variety of tasks including DHCP and ping, via ADSL2+, via Ethernet and via LAN. Alternatively the testers can be used as a 'Golden modem' in either routed or bridged mode, replacing the suspect modem and supporting Internet login.
